FFL FAQs

What is an FFL transfer?

An FFL transfer is the process of shipping a firearm purchased online or from another individual to a federally licensed firearms dealer (FFL), like us, so the legal background check and transfer can be completed.

How does the FFL transfer process work?

1. Purchase your firearm from an online retailer or private seller
2. Select our location as the receiving FFL
3. The seller ships the firearm to us
4. Once it arrives, we contact you
5. You complete the background check and paperwork in-store
6. After approval, you take your firearm home

Do I need to contact you before ordering a firearm?

In most cases, no. Many online retailers already have our FFL on file. If the seller requests a copy of our FFL license, we’re happy to provide it directly upon request.

How long does an FFL transfer take?

Transfer time depends on shipping and background check approval. Once the firearm arrives at our location, we will receive it and give you a call as soon as it’s ready for pick up.

What do I need to bring to pick up my firearm?

● A valid government-issued photo ID
● Any required state documentation (if applicable)
● Payment for the transfer fee

Our staff will guide you through the paperwork.

Can someone else pick up the firearm for me?

No. The individual who completes the background check must be the same person who takes possession of the firearm. Firearms cannot be transferred to a different individual.

What happens if my background check is delayed or denied?

Delayed: We will notify you once a final determination is received.

Denied: The firearm cannot be transferred. Return shipping and any restocking fees are the responsibility of the purchaser
